HEART-shaped lollipops are being sent to householders in Birmingham with the message Love Your Home, Keep It Safe as part of a police anti-burglary blitz.
Police in Kings Heath are using Valentine’s Day to promote the safety drive.
The campaign reminds people to take simple measures to prevent being targeted by burglars.
Insp Jon Lighton, who chairs the project meetings, said: “Although burglary is no higher here than in other parts of the city, we wanted to use Valentine’s Day to promote the anti-burglary message. We do suffer from burglaries from time to time, and we are always giving out crime prevention advice and holding events to remind people to be security conscious
“We thought this would provide a quirky way of getting the message out to people.”
