14-year-old girl dies in Moseley crash
THREE men were being quizzed by police after a teenage girl died when a four-wheel drive car ploughed into a lamppost on a busy Birmingham road today.
The 14-year-old girl, who has not yet been named, was a passenger in a Cherokee Jeep when it crashed off Alcester Road in Moseley at 1am.
She suffered multiple injuries and but paramedics and doctors, who had been put on alert for her arrival at hospital, lost their battle to save her.
Officers arrested three men on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “They are currently in custody helping police with their inquiries.”
The 4x4 was travelling out-of-city towards Moseley centre when it crossed the carriageway and hit the lamppost near the Texaco Star service station, close to the junction with Park Hill.
