Sutton Coldfield pupils glimpse the world of work

IT was almost a case of the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker as children at a Sutton Coldfield school learnt about the world of work.

Pupils at St Nicholas Catholic Primary in Boldmere, took part in an Every Child Matters Day which featured a Jobs Fair with parents and locals talking about or demonstrating their jobs.

Ex-Birmingham City player Paul Brady, whose career ended at the age of 26 due to a leg injury, was accompanied by his son Tom, 20, a coach at the club’s academy.

Head teacher Anna McGuire said: “The involvement of the local community was amazing and it was a resounding success. It enabled all the pupils to gain an insight into working life and they have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
