Warstock woman, 83, dies seven weeks after car crash

AN ELDERLY woman has died seven weeks after a car crash in which she appeared to have suffered only minor injuries.

The 83-year-old woman, who has not yet been named, died on Sunday, police have revealed.

The woman, from Warstock in Birmingham, was a rear-seat passenger in a silver Hyundai Lantra which hit a white Ford Transit Tipper on a mini-roundabout in Shawhurst Lane, Hollywood, at about 10am on Sunday, January 4.

Three women in the Hyundai initially appeared to have only minor injuries but the condition of the 83-year-old deteriorated rapidly and she was taken to Selly Oak Hospital before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
