Wife and lover accused of killing Worcestershire man
A CHEATING wife and her secret lover murdered her husband of more than 40 years for “sex and money”, a court heard.
Grandfather Reginald Southall, aged 62, was subjected to “severe violence” before being dumped into a murky river where he drowned, a jury at Worcester Crown Court heard.
His body was discovered in the River Severn in Stourport, Worcestershire, 12 days after his disappearance on December 4 2007.
He had suffered multiple injuries to his head and body.
Muriel Southall, 59, of Stourport Caravan Park, Redstone Lane, Stourport, appeared in court alongside Michael Whitcombe, 58, of Four Acres Caravan Park, Worcester Road, Stourport.
Both deny murder and perverting the course of justice.
