Revealed: Criminal life of M6 lorry-jacking stab victim

A MAN stabbed to death during an attempted lorry-jacking was a career criminal known to police forces around Britain, it was revealed today.

Dean Skidmore, 36 and from Brierley Hill, Dudley, had previously been jailed for money laundering, handling stolen goods, theft and dangerous driving.

The life-long criminal died after being stabbed during the attempted robbery in Coleshill, Warwickshire, on Thursday. A 34 year-old man and a 15 year-old boy were also injured and have since been arrested.

The foreign trucker, 41, was still being questioned on suspicion of murder last night, but claims he only acted in self-defence.

Sources confirmed Skidmore’s criminal past and one added: ‘‘He was a notorious lorry-jacker, known to forces across England.’’
