Battle to save Cerys Edwards' sight

He was speeding at more than 70mph on the wrong side of the road when the crash happened in Streetly Lane, Sutton Coldfield.

Boparan was released early in October after serving just six months for causing the horrific injuries.

He is the son of wealthy couple Ranjit and Baljinder Boparan.

The family owns the West Bromwich-based chicken supplier Boparan Holdings, which trades as Two Sisters Food Group, and are worth an estimated £130 million.

The Edwards’ have had an offer accepted on a house near Sutton Coldfield as they seek a home to meet the needs of their daughter.

They are waiting for the contracts to be exchanged and are drawing up plans with architects and city planners.

The Mail-backed Cerys Edwards campaign that calls for tougher sentences on dangerous drivers like Antonio Boparan has now clocked up nearly 11,000 signatures.

The Mail joined forces with her family last year in a bid to change the law.
