Plea after teenager stabbed to death at Hartlebury Common
Mar 11 2009 by Mark Cowan, Birmingham Mail
POLICE investigating the killing of a “fun and loving” teenager stabbed to death in a Midland village have appealed for help to trace a number of potential witnesses.
Shane Price, a 19-year-old scrap metal dealer, was killed during a fight on a car park in Hartlebury Common, near Stourport-on-Severn, Worcs, on February 13.
Det Chief Insp Paul Williamson said officers were keen to speak to a number of people seen on the common near to the scene, including a male jogger wearing shorts and a number of people out walking their dogs.
These include a woman who is white, aged around 50 with collar length, wavy, dark coloured hair. She is believed to regularly walk on the common with her dog which is described as long-haired, reddish brown in colour and has floppy ears.
Other dog walkers seen in the area at the time include two men in their 40s or early 50s, one of which was with a bearded terrier, while the other had two Labradors, one golden and one black.
Det Chief Insp Williamson said: “We are anxious to trace the jogger seen nearby and anybody who was walking their dog there as they may well have seen something of the incident and have information valuable to the investigation.
“Even if they don’t think they saw anything it’s still important for us to talk to them in order to rule out the possibility.”
Two men have been remanded in custody charged with murdering Shane Price and wounding. One has also been charged with attempted murder. A woman has also been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and wounding.
They will all next appear at Worcester Crown Court on June 29.
