Stockland Green Technology College investigation

The source further claimed that a leaving party planned for a member of Stockland Green’s staff at a top city centre venue had since been scrapped after the bill was said to have been put at £10,000.

The party was planned to have involved a four-course meal for up to 100 guests.

The Mail revealed last year that Mr Arnott was understood to be leaving Stockland Green after it became one of 20 National Challenge schools in Birmingham with low GCSE results including English and maths.

Just 15 per cent of pupils achieved five or more top grades, including the two core subjects, compared with the Government’s target of 30 per cent.

The Mail revealed that Stockland Green was due to be linked with another school, with Sutton Coldfield’s The Arthur Terry secondary as a possible candidate.

But later, Mr Arnott, who has been head of Stockland Green since January 2001, said that he was remaining in his post while discussions continued over a proposed link with another, more successful, school.
