Munazir Hussain, from Newtown Amateur Boxing Group on Barr Street, said: “The money will be spent on equipment such as gloves and other things for the juniors and youths.”
Carole Woodward, nursery manager of Lyndon Methodist Church, Melton Avenue, said: “We will get a laptop and printer. The kids will use it for their studies and play.”
Louise McCathie, from Mencap on Coventry Road, Yardley, said: “This is fantastic news. The money will be used to buy IQ testing equipment so our athletes can compete in the Paralympics.”
PPDG workers contribute each month to the scheme and have donated more than £30,000 to around 150 good causes in the past year.
