Jamelia desperate for Birmingham walk of stars honour

POP princess Jamelia is desperate to take her place alongside Ozzy Osbourne on Birmingham’s walk of stars.

During a radio interview the Brummie-born singer expressed surprise that she was thought of as a local hero in the city and said: “Tell them to give me one of those stars then.”

She was pleased to hear that on the voting website to nominate stars – www.walkofstars.co.uk – she ranked alongside motor sport legend Nigel Mansell and Sutton Coldfield born Cat Deeley.

But was disappointed to hear she was behind reggae stars UB40 and even the Weasley twins from JK Rowling’s Harry Potter films.

“Are they from Birmingham?” she said.

“It would be amazing to get one,” she added. “Cat Deely doesn’t even live here any more. I still live in Birmingham I still go to the Bullring and everything else.”

Jamelia, who has won four MOBO Awards, a Q award and has received six BRIT Award nominations still wants to add a star to her collection as soon as possible.
