Three West Midlanders to compete to be Alan Sugar's Apprentice

Three people from the West Midlands are to take part in the fifth series of Sir Alan Sugar's The Apprentice.

Anita Shah, 35, from Birmingham, Majid Nagra, 28, from Coventry, and Paula Jones, 29, from Walsall, will compete in the show that sees aspiring tycoons embark on a job interview from hell as Britain experiences its toughest economic conditions in decades.

Shah is a business strategist and qualified lawyer. She hopes to one day complete a chick-lit novel and launch a business providing emotional, psychological and spiritual therapy.

She said: "My CV is strong. I am articulate. I can deal with questions and make impactful statements. Many lawyers can't. People want to chat with me."
