Lorry driver in Yardley bollard collision
Mar 19 2009 by Tony Collins, Birmingham Mail
THESE were the moments a large articulated lorry bit off more than it could chew as it tried to navigate its way around Birmingham’s streets.
The huge foreign lorry tried to turn into Herondale Road, in Yardley, from Sunnymead Road, only to discover it simply couldn’t manage the bend.
To avoid getting completely stuck, the vehicle reversed the way it had come, only to collide with a concrete bollard in Sunnymead Road as it manoeuvred itself around the corner.
An eyewitness said: “I couldn’t believe what it was trying to do, and was really concerned it might reverse into someone’s car or garden.
“The lorry was trying to back out of Herondale Road into Sunnymead Road.”
