Fordrough pub murder: Family leave tributes at scene
THE family of Tracy McConnell, who was beaten to death while trying to break up a pub brawl, have laid moving tributes at the scene.
A wreath spelling out the word Daddy was among many placed outside the Fordrough pub in West Heath. His wife, Sharon left a touching message to the 46-year-old carpenter.
It read: “Tracy, my darling husband. I love you with all my heart and always will. Don’t know how I will cope without you, but I will find a way as you gave me two beautiful daughters.
“You will live on in both of them. Yours forever. Your loving wife, Sharon.”
His young daughters Shannon and Amelia left simple messages saying “all my love” and “miss you daddy”.
Tracy’s mother and father left a note reading: “You are now in heaven, united with your brother Gerard. God bless son, until we meet again. Mom and Dad.”
Police are now trawling through CCTV tapes of the fight.
