Edgbaston home wrecked by fire

A FAMILY face a nightmare end to a dream holiday today when they return to find their luxury Birmingham home ravaged by fire.

More than 20 firefighters battled through the night to control the blaze at the three-storey property in Edgbaston.

It started in a second floor back bedroom and burned through to the room directly underneath.

Five fire crews tackled the blaze but could not save the property from extensive damage.

No-one was hurt and it is believed to have been started accidentally.

Firefighters said that the owners were returning from holiday today.
