Cash for family of asbestos-related cancer man

GRIEVING relatives of a retired Midland bricklayer who died from asbestos-related cancer have won a six figure payout from his former bosses.

Colin Allen, from Great Wyrley, near Cannock, died three months after being diagnosed with terminal cancer mesothelioma.

The illness is caused by exposure to dangerous asbestos particles and his family have been locked in a legal battle against Mr Allen’s former employers F & EV Linford Limited and Sir Alfred McAlpine Capital Projects Limited.

Both firms said an out of court settlement was reached.
