Paraglider airlifted to hospital at top of the Wrekin

A PARAGLIDER has been injured after he landed heavily at the top of the Wrekin in Shropshire.

Walkers nearby said the man was about 40ft up when he seemed to get into trouble and descended very quickly, landing heavily.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “The man was in a lot of pain. He was complaining of back and leg injuries.”

The incident happened at 10.40am yesterday.

The 44-year-old man from Walsall was airlifted to the trauma centre at Selly Oak Hospital.
