Quinton fire death: Second man in court

A SECOND person has been charged with the murder of a man whose burnt body was found with his hands and feet bound in his fire-wrecked Birmingham home.

West Midlands Police said the 37-year-old Birmingham man was due to appear before city magistrates today accused of killing Mark Clarkson.

Mr Clarkson, aged 48, had been tied up and beaten, suffering two or three injuries to his head and face, before his house in nearby Copperbeech Road, Quinton, had been set ablaze on Saturday, March 28.

The 37-year-old was arrested on Sunday and charged late last night.

Reece Mason, aged 18, of Court Oak Road, Quinton, was yesterday remanded in custody charged with Mr Clarkson’s murder. He will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 14.
