Yardley Wood love rival murder trial: Ex-girlfriend had cut hand

Biddle, 32, has denied the murder of Ms Bradshaw, in Berkley Road, Shirley, last May. Car parts consultant Mr Watson, aged 32, had been in an on-off relationship with Biddle for 14 years. The prosecution alleged that Biddle went to the house with a knife intent on harming Ms Bradshaw, who lived in Clarence Road, Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield.

Biddle at first denied being at the house on the morning of the attack but later admitted to police she was there.

She said she only went to talk to her love rival but when she got there Ms Bradshaw went to the kitchen and got a knife.

Biddle stated that during the struggle, which spilled to the street outside, she pushed the knife towards Ms Bradshaw but did not think she had caused her any injuries.

Earlier in the trial Biddle claimed it was she who was attacked when Ms Bradshaw came towards her brandishing a knife.

In her police interview Biddle said that while she was in the hallway Ms Bradshaw had gone into the kitchen, returned with a knife and came towards her with it, saying: “I’m not going to tell you again, f... off.”

She added that in the struggle which followed when she grabbed Ms Bradshaw’s arm, the knife had gone down and into the dressing gown she was wearing.

But forensic scientist Andrew Palmer said that Ms Bradshaw had started bleeding in the kitchen, not the hallway where Biddle said the confrontation took place.
