Man dies after being hit by lorry on M6

A man died on a busy motorway after being hit by a lorry, an ambulance service said today.

The victim is believed to have been on foot when he was struck by the vehicle on the southbound carriageway of the M6 near Bedworth, Warwickshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to junction three of the motorway at 10.45pm yesterday.

A spokesman said: "On arrival at the scene crews found a man that had been in collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

"The man suffered multiple serious injuries in the collision and unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
