Birmingham man jailed for terror offences

Pa Modou Jobe

A BIRMINGHAM man was behind bars today after admitting possessing terrorist propaganda.

Officers found terror training manuals and a mobile phone reconnaissance video of the West Midlands Police HQ in the home of Pa Modou Jobe.

Police believe the material was intended for terrorist purposes.

The 29-year-old of Witton Road, Aston, was yesterday jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for three years and nine months after pleading guilty to four terrorism offences.

West Midlands Police Assistant Chief constable Anil Patani says: “We believed the video was intended to be used by Jobe or others to aid terrorist purposes.

“The guilty plea demonstrates the strength of our evidence and the thoroughness of the investigation.

“It also shows our determination to protect our communities from the threat of terror.”

Gambian-born Jobe was first arrested at his home on December 15 2006, suspected of immigration and passport offences.

During the search of his home police seized computer and electronic equipment, including CDs, DVDs, iPod and a mobile phone.
