Apprentice hopeful Noorul Choudhury disputes 'quiet' image

Noorul Choudhury

Noorul Choudhury insisted he was the "life and soul of the party", not the quiet character seen on The Apprentice, after becoming the latest candidate to get the boot.

The 33-year-old Rochdale-based science teacher was kicked off the show after team Empire lost a task to sell bric-a-brac, making a loss of £169.

The candidates were warned not to take any items at face value and that they should try to determine their true worth.

Philip Taylor and Lorraine Tighe, on Ignite, reignited their ongoing row in a dispute over the sale of a skeleton and a rug.

Taylor told Tighe she was wasting her time on the rug, which was later revealed to be a hidden gem - but despite this the team managed to win.

Sir Alan Sugar told Choudhury during the sacking shown on BBC1 last night: "I don't know what you've been doing here and I think you have escaped the radar - you're fired!"

Choudhury believes that the editing was a big factor in how candidates came across.

He said: "They make characters out of you, don't they? Certainly the way that I was portrayed, the way that Phil is being portrayed at the moment, the way James (McQuillan) was portrayed for the first couple of episodes."
