Apprentice hopeful Noorul Choudhury disputes 'quiet' image

He said of coming across as being quiet himself: "This is completely the opposite of what I am.

"My colleagues and friends and family have said, 'You're nothing like that, I just don't get why you have been shown like that'. Because I'm a teacher, I'm on a platform every single day of my job and I'm on stage, whether it's teaching the kids or whether it's speaking to the people that I manage in my team.

"I act professional at all times so therefore I can't sit quiet. That's nothing like me.

"I'm always the life and soul of the party ... I'm always talking and chatting."

He admitted to being "quite ruthless and quite arrogant" at times.

But he continued: "The way I've been portrayed, I really don't know why I've been chosen to be that way, that's something that I can't change now."

Choudhury, who is now back in the classroom, said he was working on a science project to "revolutionise men's shirt collars" and keep them looking clean.

He said he was also in talks with former contestant of this series Majid Nagra to start an online recruitment business.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to it. Majid is such a character."

Choudhury said of getting the sack: "I'm not bitter at all. I'm obviously disappointed but I respect Sir Alan's decision at the end of the day.

"Clearly I'm not the kind of person that he's looking for in his organisation and I'd say good luck to the rest of the guys."

He said he believed Howard Ebison was coming across as "a bit sly ... a bit of a snake...

"He acts (as) more of a mediator than anything else, I think.

"Everyone's capable of back stabbing in there.

"But the other people, I know they are doing it but they're not showing it. But everyone's capable of it. I wouldn't trust a lot of them."

Empire wrongly interpreted the rules and thought they had to get rid of all the items, whether they made a loss or not - and Choudhury believed this mistake may have been fatal.

Choudhury said: "We thought we would incur penalties if we brought any goods back to the boardroom.

"Maybe we would have won had we realised."
