Man trapped under crane at West Midlands Safari Park
A MAN was rescued after he became trapped under a crane at the West Midlands Safari Park at Bewdley.
Paramedics and firefighters were called at 2.45pm yesterday and a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews found a small crane type vehicle that had overturned within a works area, within the safari park.
“The driver, a man in his early fifties, was trapped in the cab of the vehicle for around an hour.
“The man received treatment for his injuries by ambulance crews whilst being released by the fire service.
“The man suffered back injuries and was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar.
“The man was then airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
