Nadav Kander visits Birmingham to see his Obama exhibition

AN exhibition devoted to the inner circle of the world’s most powerful man has opened in Birmingham with a visit from the photographer behind the work.
Nadav Kander’s work, premiering at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, shows 52 portraits of advisers, aides and cabinet secretaries in Barack Obama’s administration. They include former democratic nomination rival Hillary Clinton, now secretary of state, and the man who pipped her to the vice-presidency, Joe Biden.
The visit coincided with President Obama’s 100th day in the White House.
Rhonda Wilson, of creative agency Rhubarb-Rhubarb, who had the idea for the show, said: “Although being first with this particular project is significant, it’s about other things too.
“It fits in with the diversity of the city and region, the power of photography to evidence political change at this historic moment.”
The exhibition runs in Birmingham until August 30.
