AN EDGBASTON-based safety organisation will be honouring the companies for their commitment to protecting health in the workplace.

About 1,600 businesses will be recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents from May 12-15.

The majority of the awards are non-competitive and mark achievement which is graded at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Those demonstrating continued improvement can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Competitive awards go to the best entries in 22 industry sectors.

Special awards include workforce involvement, training and occupational health.

The ceremonies will take place alongside Safety & Health Expo at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel next to the NEC.
