Perverted conman Simon Quinn evicted from Hawkesley home

RESIDENTS on a Birmingham estate are celebrating after a paedophile and conman was evicted from his home and told he can never return.
Callous Simon Quinn has been jailed for a total of six years for sexually assaulting a young girl and plundering an elderly neighbour’s £23,000 life-savings. But the shameless crook tried to hang on to his council home in Hawkesley by moving his new lover in while he was behind bars.
Police and council officials forced entry this week and changed the locks before placing metal shutters over the doors and windows of the terraced house in Stonecrop Close.
Today, Quinn’s wife, who is filing for divorce after she learned of her husband’s sick crimes, spoke for the first time about her nightmare ordeal.
Amanda Quinn, aged 31, said: “He was charming and he completely took me in and gained my trust.
“Finding out that he had stolen from an old man was one thing, but when it emerged what he had done to that girl, my world collapsed.
“I don’t want anything to with him ever again.
“ I broke down and cried with relief when I saw them boarding the house up because I knew then he would never be back.”
Heartless Quinn, aged 36, was jailed for four years in April last year after admitting that he took cash from the account of 79-year-old family friend Norman Skeldon.
He used the money to fund an on-line gambling habit and pay for expensive gadgets, including a £900 camcorder.
The first time Amanda became concerned was after they had been married for only seven weeks when she discovered a letter from Birmingham City Council threatening to evict frail Mr Skeldon because of rent arrears.
When she confronted her new husband, he admitted “borrowing” £3,000 from Mr Skeldon who he had conned into handing over details about his savings. She immediately ended the relationship and moved back into her own house.
It was only after police began to analyse Mr Skeldon’s finances that they realised Quinn, who had known his victim since he was a child, had used his power of attorney to empty the entire account and rack up £2,000 of debts.
