A TEACHER has been arrested by police investigating allegations that he “breached his position of trust” with teenage girls.
Matthew Bartlett, aged 31, has been suspended from The Coleshill School, in Coleshill, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
It is understood he was suspended following a complaint made against him by his wife to the school, which has more than 1,000 pupils.
The father of a pupil, who did not want to be named, said: “There is an element of shock amongst the parents.
“We have been kept in the dark, apart from one official letter that was sent out.
“It said he was suspended and that he would be on extended leave until further notice.
“Other than that, there has been no communication from the school. The parents are upset and annoyed by the fact that they are not being kept informed. “The only reason we have heard the story is because groups of teachers within the school who were disgusted by what happened informed the pupils during a lesson.”
Another parent claimed that the teacher was suspended following a complaint made against him from his wife to the management of the school.
