Revealed: Birmingham MP's £175-a-night stays in luxury hotel at taxpayer's expense
A MIDLAND MP has been living in a five-star luxury hotel for more than a year after previously using it as a love-nest – all on expenses.
Khalid Mahmood stays at the opulent Bentley Hotel in posh Kensington – where room prices start at £175-a-night – after designating it his official second home.
The Birmingham Perry Barr MP had also previously spent nights there with former lover, Parliamentary worker Elaina Cohen, after splitting from his Muslim wife – with whom he had shared a taxpayer-funded house in Wembley.
Last night, Mr Mahmood defended his expenses by claiming the London hotel, which has a jacuzzi in every room, was ‘more cost effective’ than renting a flat.
