Duck race in Kidderminster to raise charity funds
May 26 2009 by Paul Bradley, Birmingham Mail
A MIDLAND carnival is set to go quackers with the launch of its annual fund-raising duck race with the backing of Kidderminster Carnival’s queen, 18-year-old Ruth Keenan.
Organisers of the carnival, which takes place on June 20, hope the “pre-carnival” event will raise up to £1,000 for Kidderminster Hospital’s cancer treatment suite.
The carnival is supporting the £150,000 Millbrook Appeal at the hospital and the Severn Area Rescue Association.
Ducks will be on sale outside Tesco, at Weavers Wharf, and in the town, priced £1 each, and the big race will start at 4pm.
To book a stall at the Brinton Park for the carnival call Mr Hill on 01562 751634.
