“It’s been a very, very long road to recovery, but it’s not over yet. I have terrible nerve damage. My smashed ribs have knitted together, but in doing so caught nerve endings, so I’m still in pain every day.
“I will have to deal with this for the rest of my life, but at least I’m working. I was terrified I’d never act again.”
Hope Springs starts on June 7, with a strong female cast including Alex Kingston and Christine Bottomley.
Sian is a former pupil of Wolgarston High School in Penkridge.
Her first job was serving in Dolcis shoe shop in Wolverhampton on Saturdays, and she loved dancing as a child.
One of her claims to fame is that she was the 1984 Midlands Latin American Dance Champion.
Her TV dramas include A Land Of Plenty and Cutting It, where she played flamboyant beautician Sydney.
She was Mark Benton’s wife in the drama series Northern Lights.
She had a brief spell in EastEnders as a restaurant manageress and also won the reality singing show Just The Two Of Us, partnering Russell Watson.
