Swimmers rescued from Birmingham Reservoir

TWO men were taken to hospital after getting into difficulties while swimming in Edgbaston Reservoir.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the reservoir at 7.30pm on Sunday to find three men who had taken a dip.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two of the men, both in their 20s, had got into difficulties and were treated at the scene for the effects of hypothermia.

“They were both taken to City Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

The third man, who hadn’t been in the water as long as the other two, went home.
