14 more cases of swine flu reported at Birmingham primary school

The number of cases of swine flu in the UK has exceeded 200 after a further 17 people were diagnosed today - 14 of them from Birmingham.

The cases include 13 children and one adult from Welford Primary School in Handsworth, which is already linked with 50 cases of the infection.

Two adults in London, one returning traveller and one linked to a previously confirmed case, and a child in the east of England whose source of infection remains under investigation, were also diagnosed, the Health Protection Agency said.

The total number of cases in the UK now stands at 203, according to the agency.
