Planners approve temporary shop floor at Sutton Coldfield superstore

REDEVELOPMENT work on Birmingham’s largest superstore can now start after city planners agreed to the construction of a temporary shop floor.

Plans for the expansion of the Asda WalMart store at Minworth in Sutton Coldfield were approved in March and will be carried out before the end of this year.

A lightweight building will be attached to the front of the store, between its existing entrances, to provide temporary selling space while the work is carried out.

Birmingham’s planning committee set a 30-week limit on the temporary structure.
