A RETURN flight of more than 10,000 miles, seven nights in a five star hotel – all for £361 per person.
Flights to swine flu source Mexico resume from Birmingham International Airport today, with tour operators desperate to drum up business – meaning bargains galore are on offer. The first flight to Cancun left at 9.45am after flights were grounded earlier this month following a worldwide outbreak of the flu.
A major screening operation was put in place at the airport when the last flight arrived from Mexico on May 5.
West Midlands Health Protection Agency staff screened every passenger for flu-like symptoms and handed out leaflets. West Midlands Ambulance services were also on standby in case of anyone feeling unwell.
So far, 13 people have been diagnosed with swine flu in the West Midlands region.
Thomson stopped flying to Cancun on May 7.
Thomson Plus Holidays are now enticing nervous sunseekers back to the country by offering massive discounts on fantastic family resorts, return flights included, dotted along the Caribbean coast.
Some of the heavily-discounted bargains include a seven-night all-inclusive stay, at Playacar resort, which has been given a five-star rating by customers, from just £361 per person or £722 per couple, with savings of £1,250 if purchased online.
Others looking to get away from it all can enjoy an all-inclusive seven-night stay at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa resort, again with five-star customer reviews, from £1,274 for two, with online savings of £1,386.
Shona Swain, acting general manager for Thomson and First Choice long haul products, said: “Now it has been declared safe to go back to Mexico following swine flu there has never been a better time to go.
“Mexico is a fantastic destination with stunning white sand beaches, wonderful hotels and a fascinating culture to discover, so customers should definitely look into making the most of the low prices on offer this summer.
“One of the best things about going to Mexico with Thomson and First Choice is that it has really good all-inclusive hotels where you can enjoy a huge variety of a la carte restaurants within the resorts. Not only will customers have a fantastic holiday, they will also be playing a part in helping the destination get back on its feet following the recent negative press.”
