Birmingham sax star Julian Smith into Britain's Got Talent final
BIRMINGHAM sax sensation Julian Smith has played his way into the final of Britain's Got Talent.
The 39-year-old's performance was the most popular among the voting public.
He was then tipped by Simon Cowell as "one to watch" in the final.
Competition he beat included grandfather and granddaughter singing duo Two Grand aka John Neill and Sallie Lax, aged, 76 and 12 respectively, who went through in second-place after being backed by the judges.
Speaking on the show after winning the semi final, Julian said he hadn't dare dream of winning through to the final, and pledged to rehearse non-stop between now and the final at the weekend.
But while Julian may have been surprised to win, bookies William Hill had made Smith their 4/7 favourite to get the public's vote tonight.
A total of 10 acts will be chosen to compete in the final and along with Julian, the Midlands will be represented by Lichfield teenaged rugby player Shaun Smith, who went through earlier this week.
Young Birmingham dancer Aidan Davis is due to perform tomorrow for a place in the final.
