Fire crews tackle blaze at derelict Balsall Heath factory

FIREFIGHTERS in breathing gear tackled a blaze at this derelict factory in Birmingham today.

The fire started at a two-storey building on Brunswick Industrial Estate in Hertford Street, Balsall Heath.

It quickly spread to the first and second floor.

Fire crews were called at about 6.30am and used thermal imaging cameras during the fire-fighting operation.

No one was hurt.

The cause is being investigated.
