Disney's Hannah Montana ticket prices sparks parent fury
“You would expect them to be about £30. It is astronomical. But at the end of the day it’s about putting pressure on parents.”
Mrs Hammond, 32, who lives in Tamworth, added: “I have a son too. He wouldn’t want to see Hannah Montana but if I had another daughter and we were going as a family it would be more than £200. That’s ridiculous for one night at a concert and that’s not even including transport, parking and any memorabilia.”
Maria Georgiou, whose ten-year old daughter Antonia is a huge fan, said: “It is a total rip-off. It is a concert aimed at children but they can’t go alone so it would mean at least £100. It’s not like you can buy a ticket for them to go with friends, an adult has to go too.
“There is no way I will be buying tickets. For a concert aimed at children it is way overpriced. In the past I have been to see Bryan Adams and Elton John and not paid that much.”
A spokesman for The NEC group said: “We are proud to welcome the hugely popular Miley Cyrus to the LG Arena in what we are sure will be an amazing night for her fans.
“However, ticket prices for concerts and events at our venues are set by the individual promoters of the shows and are calculated to cover the artists’ fees and significant costs incurred in staging the production. The pricing of tickets is therefore outside our control.”
* Tickets for the gigs on December 22 and 23 go on sale on Friday.
