Birmingham credit union given £1,000 grant

A BIRMINGHAM credit union set up to help the hard-up steer clear of loan sharks has been given a £1,000 boost to attract new members.

The South East Birmingham Community Credit Union has been given a £1,000 grant to market itself in the area.

The cash was awarded by Unity Trust Bank which caters for social enterprises and charities.
