AN ACCIDENT involving a lorry on the M6 caused a severe traffic tailback this afternoon.

The motorway was closed northbound due to the multi-vehicle accident between Junction 5, Castle Bromwich and Junction 6, Spaghetti Junction.

Drivers were caught up in congestion spreading back to Junction 4, at Coleshill.
