Quinton girl Jade uses her loaf to win competition

SCHOOLGIRL Jade Woodhouse had the perfect answer to her mum always running out of bread to make her sandwiches.

The 14-year-old, from Bent Avenue in Quinton, entered a competition in the Birmingham Mail to win a supply of bread for a whole year.

Jade, a pupil of Hagley RC secondary school near Stourbridge, used her ‘loaf’ by designing a winning sandwich recipe, the ‘Kingsthrill’, which was made up of chicken tikka with lettuce, tomato, spinach and a tasty dressing.

Jade said: “My mum always runs out of bread when she makes my sandwiches, so I entered this competition when I saw it in the Mail. Now she won’t have any excuses!”

The competition was run as part of National Sandwich Week last month.
