Man remanded over Selly Oak murder

A father of two young children appeared in court today charged with killing a 26-year-old man.

Stefan Laidlaw, of Bolton Court, Ocker Hill Road, Tipton, West Midlands, was remanded in custody at Birmingham Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Michael Hickman.

Mr Hickman, from Druids Heath, died in hospital in Birmingham on June 23 after suffering a skull fracture in the Selly Oak area of the city on June 20.

Laidlaw, 27, was ordered to appear at Birmingham Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on July 3.
