Birmingham strippers told to cover up!

A total of 12 letters written by disgruntled residents of Berkley Court and Friday Wharf will be considered by the licensing committee.

They outline concerns including noise, the sight of scantily-clad women and the number of lapdancing clubs in the city.

Also in the dossier is a letter to police from an agent employed on behalf of Legs 11’s parent company, Leisure Nights Ltd, to deal with the application.

The document promises that no dancers will be allowed outside with underwear on show.

A letter has also been sent to Birmingham’s Safeguarding Children’s Board to reassure them that no images of naked or semi-naked women will be visible from outside the premises.

CCTV is also to be fitted inside private booths at the club.

The letter from the club’s agent, Terry Poultney, states that this is to “negate any accusations of illegal activity and offer protection to the dancers”.

Addressing the concerns of the residents, Mr Poultney said: “Our policy has always been that employees must be suitably dressed when they go outside so I believe that these claims are nonsense.

“The police have no objections to the application. We absorb all of our noise and we make every effort to make sure that there are no large groups or stag parties leaving later than 10pm.”
