Cycling priests drop in to Brum

A PAIR of pedalling priests arrived at St Philip’s Cathedral yesterday as part of a massive 1,000-mile sponsored cycle ride to 29 cathedrals.

Canon Nigel Hand welcomed Father Philip North, 42, and his colleague, Pastoral Assistant Peter Garvie, 24, to Colmore Row.

The pair, from St Michael’s Church in Camden, are raising money for a restoration project at the church.

They are cycling from Camden to Coventry, York, Liverpool, Bradford, Birmingham and St Albans to St Paul’s, in London.

They will finish on Sunday and hope to raise £30,000.
