A WOMAN has been fined after being caught dumping dirty nappies into a neighbour’s garden.
Charlene Runiewicz, aged 21, was spotted dropping dirty nappies from her first-floor flat into a neighbour’s garden in Lomax Road, Hednesford, Cannock, by another resident in November last year.
She was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice by Cannock Chase Council but failed to pay up.
Ms Runiewicz entered a guilty plea to not paying the notice and the case was heard in her absence at Stafford Magistrates’ Court.
She was fined £180 and ordered to pay costs of £200 and a £15 victim surcharge.
Cannock Chase Council hopes its actions will urge other residents to shout up about littering offences.
Councillor Tony Williams, the council’s environmental sustainability leader, said: “We took action against Ms Runiewicz on the evidence of a resident and I urge others to tell us about littering offences. Together, we can make a real difference to the environment we live in.”
