Mixed views on transport plan

Charlotte Eva, a 22-year-old assistant from Sutton Coldfield said: “I think it would be good for people that struggle with their mobility but in general, I think people should walk. It may use less fuel but it would add to the number of vehicles on the road.”

Pritpal Panesar, an 18-year-old student from Edgbaston said: “It would be a good idea if people could use their existing bus passes and there were discounts for people like students.”

Heidi McCallion, an 18-year-old student from Smethwick said: “I probably wouldn’t use it as I don’t think we really need it.”

Andrew Sheppard, a 25-year-old public affairs assistant from Worcester said: “I don’t think it’s something that the city needs.

“£10 million isn’t a huge amount of money for a city this size but it should be spent on upgrading existing transport.”

George Brown, a 48-year-old flower seller from Bromsgrove said: “If it helps people to get around the city quicker, it is a good idea to help traffic congestion, which is good for traders like me who have to get into the city centre at busy times.”
