Police quiz man after Birmingham cannabis factory swoop

A MAN was arrested today in a police swoop on a cannabis factory in Birmingham.

Officers discovered about 200 cannabis plants and associated equipment in a semi-detached house in Hill Top Drive, Bromford, in the raid this morning.

The operation came after a tip-off from members of the public.

West Midlands Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and is now helping them with their inquiries.

Sgt Neil Aston, from Shard End police, said: “We are determined to rid our neighbourhoods of drugs, and we were able to execute this warrant after receiving very useful information from members of the local community.

“We thank them for this and hope they are pleased to see action being taken.”

The cannabis factory is the latest to be busted in the area and comes a week after police found another one when called to the detached property in Radstock Avenue, Hodge Hill, last Tuesday.

Officers, responding to reports of suspicious behaviour, discovered between 350 and 400 cannabis plants growing in three rooms.
