Motorcyclist dies in road accident in Shard End
A MOTORCYCLIST has died in hospital after being thrown from his machine and into a lamppost in Birmingham.
Police believe the 26-year-old came off after hitting the kerb as he rode along Timberley Lane, in Shard End, at 8.15pm yesterday.
West Midlands Police said the victim, from Shard End, suffered multiple injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
No other vehicle is believed to have been involved.
Police are investigating and appealed for witnesses to come forward and speak to traffic officers in the Road Policing Unit at Stechford police station on 0845 113 5000.
