Inquest into death of boy on trampoline is adjourned
An inquest into the death of a three-year-old boy who suffered a cardiac arrest while on a trampoline was opened and adjourned yesterday.
Corey Oakes, of West Heath, Birmingham, died at the city’s Children’s Hospital on July 13 after being taken ill as he played on a trampoline at his home.
During a brief hearing at Birmingham Coroners Court, Aiden Cotter, the Coroner for Birmingham and Solihull, said test results were still awaited.
In a statement issued by West Midlands Police earlier this month, Corey’s family said they had been left devastated by his death, describing him as a “beautiful, affectionate, fun-loving little boy”.
The inquest is set to resume on August 27.
