COMMUTERS using a stretch of the Midland Metro network have been hit with disruption following equipment failure.
Services between Soho Benson Road and Snow Hill station were suspended after overhead line equipment failed late on Sunday night.
A spokesman for Metro operators Travel Midland Metro said: “A service between Soho Benson Road and Snow Hill is expected to be back up and running by tomorrow morning.”
The 12-mile Metro route carries more than five million passengers a year between Wolverhampton and Birmingham and serves Handsworth, West Bromwich, Wednesbury and Bilston.
Passengers using stops between Priestfield and Kenrick Park are advised to travel to the Hawthorns and change on to the London Midland service to Snow Hill while work is being carried out.
Passengers from Wolverhampton to Birmingham will have their Midland Metro tickets accepted on London Midland train services to Birmingham. Metro tickets will also be valid on National Express West Midlands bus services along the same route.
